Providing family legal services in the capital district, I am committed to guiding individuals through some of the most challenging chapters of their lives with compassion, clarity, unwavering support, and fierce advocacy.
My practice was born out of lived experience and a deep desire to be the advocate that I, along with many loved ones, once needed. I bring that understanding into every case, with full respect for your circumstances.
Whether you’re navigating divorce, dealing with child custody law issues, seeking protection from domestic abuse, or defense against allegations of domestic abuse, my goal is to empower you with the knowledge you need, and back you with the legal strength to fight for what is right.
At Murad Legal Studio, you'll find more than legal services - you'll know you're not alone.
Whether it’s contested, uncontested, high asset, no-asset, same-sex, kids, no kids - you name it - I have the experience and skill to tailor our strategy to your unique circumstances.
I understand the emotional and financial toll that child custody battles can take on families, and work towards a resolution that prioritizes the best interests of your children.
Establishing, modifying, or enforcing child support orders, proving income and assets, I will ensure your children are provided for.
I will draft or review your prenuptial agreements, ensuring they protect your assets and interests in the event of a divorce or separation.
Understanding that taking action against an abuser is often the most dangerous time for a survivor, I will provide discreet guidance from leaving to securing your order of protection.
I also understand that that false allegations of abuse are real, and I will help defend your innocence.
Grandparents play a special role in the lives of children, and I will guide you through the intricate laws and protections for visitation, and in some cases, custody.
Raised in Utica New York by my mother Susan and father David Murad, a former New York State Supreme Court Justice, summers meant enjoying tomato pies, chicken riggies, Utica Club, and for us - a 5k became a family holiday: the boilermaker.
While my roots in law run deep, it wasn't "the family business" that shaped my career, but rather, the untimely loss of a dear childhood friend to domestic violence. Turning helplessness into advocacy, I focused my studies at Union College, where I earned degrees in psychology and philosophy, on the intricacies of domestic abuse. I authored the thesis "Akrasia: an Explanation for the Perpetration of Domestic Violence" wherein I analyze the very real circumstances of abuse, including reasons why the abused may not leave, and also, that not all allegations are legitimate. This work exposed me to the various legal matters families may endure, abuse or not, and guided me to my calling: Family Law advocacy. I furthered my studies at Albany Law School, assisting individuals in family law matters, securing victorious results in both Family and Supreme Court as only a second year student.
Now, through Murad Legal Studio, I continue to meet every client with legal expertise and lived empathy, because I know how much it means to truly be heard during such challenging times.
In my spare time, you'll find me drawing, painting, hiking, or simply soaking up time with the people I love most—the most precious thing of all.
